David Harris (1946-6 February 2023), journalist, political activist, and first husband of acclaimed folk singer, Joan Baez and father to their son, Gabriel. He was the student body president who resisted and protested the Vietnam War by publicly burning his draft card, an act for which he served two years in prison.

Joan is Joan, one of the best singers of that era. Beautiful voice.
One of her biggest hits was "the night they drove old dixie down", but I never figured out her interest in Dixie.

@earl-of-trumps saidDixie was written by Robbie Robertson of "The Band". It fit in with Baez's selection of "folk" songs, even if it was from 100 years before. (the Civil War era)
