It was hardly unexpected, but he will be missed. It's rare that someone that influential remains so widely loved in tje comics world. Most of the famous greats end up either controversial or outdated - I've never heard Stan Lee described either way.

he changed comic books forever as a kid I was a DC fan until I read my first spiderman comic never bothered with DC ever again Marvel comics were gritty, the characters fleshed out they all had a back story and had the best art work Dittko was magic.

Didn't agree with his politics but he certainly was a respectable Head of State.
I’ve enjoyed hearing all about him on the TV this am and of the respectful tributes paid by former and current presidents and prime ministers. He must have missed his wife dreadfully after her recent death. I recall the minster at the funeral of my father in law saying that he had not found it unusual for a man to die within a year of the death of their long term partner.
