It's my theory that those posters with a number(s) in their username are in some way superior to those lacking such a numerical designation.

I just haven't figured out what those superior qualities are yet.

For the most part... the name they wanted was already taken when they joined, making them tedious and predictable.

I fear them. I'm currently playing Crockett1947, Farhan4717 and Sadam666. I think it's the suggestion of mathematical exactituade that scares me.

Or what year it is even! I know a user who had 2006 added to their name, and that's just silly.

Can you really request to add a number to your name?

I would like to do that. If not, I would at least want my "k" to be a capital "K" since my name is not a proper noun.

Is this possible?

What about all the players who have 666 in their name -- is that supposed to be scary? I should cringe because this person will make diabolical moves on the chess board or something?

All you can do is ask with Feedback (bottom of every page) and have a very good reason. The admins don't change names often. This user had his name changed shortly after one of the RHP meet-ups in England last year, so I think you may need to buy them a pint to have any chance.

😉

Think about ANY user name... it is WAY cooler when you add 666 to the end of it.

I am far more afraid of players who threaten to handle or fondle my pawns.
