congrats to all americans, you made the better choice. and even if the conservatives won't realize it, their standard of living will go up in the long run as well. the financial gamblers, who already have far more money than they could ever hope to spend, will hit a slight bump with their profit margins, but everyone else will gain. you've just dodged a bullet, one which would've been the last straw after 8 years of catastrofic financial negligence. not to even mention the abandonement of human rights.
who knows, maybe you'll even have a shot of obtaining real democracy due to the prospects of putting a final stop to the racist legacy. setting up proper healthcare for the poor and middle class (your majority population) will also have huge effect (over time) on productivity and healthcare costs (health troubles cumulating with aging is massively expensive to the society).
will you fix the education? remains to be seen. you're allowing only a fraction of population to get proper academic education, when it could be close to half. which effectually means you're throwing your potential away, and can't compete with the rest of the world. right now you're buying the 'brain drain' from other countries, but very soon (10-20y) the china & india will snatch the foreign brainiacs and you'll be forced to make do with americans. in the long run you need to upgrade your education heavily, or you'll be left behind.
the changes won't happen over night, but these are the things you voted 'yes' for. the first step. congratulations!
