discussing contravertial topics - OK, 99% of the time
forcing random cookies on people - OK, if a little fattening
Direct insults or attacks aimed at specific users/groups - not OK
Comments like " He...doesn't have the IQ of a three year old" invite a retort, and then another and another... time and again this has caused threads to degenerate into mudslinging, so it is discouraged.
I'm sure that you do not feel that you need to insult people in order to make your point, but as heated as the situation gets let's try to keep it polite and civil.
