Hi everyone,

I currently have two games going where my opponent's have timed out. In both games, it is fairly early and I am down a pawn. I am hesitant to call a time-out victory since it has been less than 12 hours, and I would feel a little cheap doing so. However, I also don't want to wait forever and a day for them to a) move, or b) start a fresh game with a new player.

What are your opinions on claiming time-out victories??
Thanks,
-j

Don't time them out.

Create a new folder in your games, call it "Graveyard" and move all the time-out games there. Then you'll have your own little collection of skulls.

That is a sweet idea... I would 'harvest' them once every year in late August.

I am very generous in regards to timeouts. I have been burned when someone comes back to life after dropping 300-400 points. So now when I see the rating droppping due to others licking the skull, I'll follow suit.

If it is a clan match game I'll ask the opposong clan leader about the status of his or her player (incidently, we need more female clan leaders) and go from there.

Would you build a big throne out of them?

stop talking about dumb morality, it is a chess site, and you get a time limit. if your opponent exceeds the time limit, claim your win. and when you exceed it, expect your opponents to do the same. and don't be cry babies
