Nobody has started more than three threads on the page.
Not a single copycat thread.
Most threads are short and their topics are varied.

OK, it was 2007, but I looked also at Page 250 (2010) and it wasn't much different.

Would anyone care to comment?

Page one presently has 11 threads with 100 + posts totaling 46,943 for an average of 4,268 each. More people should begin threads. Thanks.

Edit Note: There are also 14 threads with 100 + posts on pages two through seven for a total of 25 threads with 100 + posts. Quite a few.

Or: Will you constraint GB to that forum? Like a constant forum ban for all forums except one?

You had your say and some people may even have smiled but to take this suggestion serious is not easy."

Comment: It's interesting to read threads written seven years ago and to realize that the more things change the more they stay the same. Nice post.

We all change one day at a time until that morning or noon or evening when we depart this life on earth for eternity. Exceptions: nary a one.............

This thread got dragged off-topic immediately. I was looking for some thoughts on why very few individual posters remain in this forum, compared to a few years ago. Personally, I blame Facebook.

Yes, the advent of social media has had a negative effect on many online public forums. RHP's Debates and Spirituality still attract a diversity of posters. There's a warm reception on Facebook because new members usually have a nucleus of family members and close friend already there. In contrast, to gain social acceptance on this general forum has proven to be quite a challenge in recent years as first time posters have become discouraged (especially those who get criticized for a thread topic which belongs in another public forum as well as those who innocently ask a procedural question). Whatever happened to the volunteers who offered to assist new members? Incivility also plays a role.

It is not off topic.

We have found the culprit: GB is like vomit inside the brain, i.e.
it numbs it, confuses it, and then rots.

Simple solution: Just ignore rather than fixate your daily attention upon him.

But haven't some veterans just been telling us that the forums thrived back in the day when "incivility" prevailed?

So what role do you reckon "incivility" has had?

And people have the nerve to say the forums are dying.

Yeah, I hope you would do the same but instead you decided
to badger me and the site until I got banned, click thumbs down
and rile up your troops to persecute my "bad taste", hollering
about how worried you were about 13 year olds*

So, care to copy paste your encyclopedia definition of hypocrisy, jerk?

* This obsession with pre- and pubescent kids remains suspicious, but
that's another topic. Maybe for the FBI?
