OK. Here' s the plan. First we narrow down the date to a range, and then we vote on a specific date. Nordlys would like us to wait 'til June, I think that's probably going to result in a lack of momentum, but it's a possibilty. I think it's unrealistic to think it could happen before the holidays, so let's have folks vote on one of three possible time ranges. Please only vote if you think there's a good chance that you will attend.
Option 1 - "Soon" - January/February timeframe (snow could be a mitigating factor)
Option 2 - "Spring" - March/April timeframe (weather should be better, but do you want to wait that long?)
Option 3 - "Later" - May/June timeframe (weather will be nice, but will you still be playing chess then?)
Let's see what the consensus is. By the way, when you vote, please note your location (where you'll be coming from), how long you think it will take to get to Philly, and how likely you think it will be that you can attend.
Have at it!

With that much time, we can organize a whole freaking convention, arrange for guestspeakers and grandmasters, elect a grand poobah, endorse a candidate for governor, have a parade, with floats, arrange the human sacrifices...

Coming from the Siberian wastelands it would be a very dangerous and enduring journey. 😛
Checked out some airline prices. Not bad. Especially with a little luck and a seat sale. Mabye cash in those airmiles I've been hording for the past 10 years. Now what was that about a jucuzzi and professional back massages?

Ah, Flintstones, not flinstones. I did find that. Of course I still don't know what a poobah is.
People who get together for steak fry, drinking, and all sorts of organized crap. Fund raisers... etc.
The Grand Poobah is the leader.
