In a way it is. While recognizing the poster is a scoundrel I am still able to appreciate a well-crafted post and give it a thumbs up.

The poster is a scoundrel in your Opinion doesn't actually make the person a scoundrel. I believe it would have been proper to refer to poster as them instead of it. You see that is my opinion. 😉

Also you did refer the poster as it....You could have said them, but preferred the word it still looking down on the poster.

'A' scoundrel or 'the' scoundrel is generic and nonspecific.
