I HATE "videos" that are a picture or a slideshow. LAME
I'm not sure about the vid in question because I have no sound on my pc at home,(hence I cant check it out right now), but for muso's that just want to get their stuff out there, they are forced to add a visual component , whether it be a slideshow or just a picture.
It is said between muso's ,(and others), that it's the music that counts - something that was largely forgotten in the 80's where they would just put hot chicks dancing around interspersed with pics of the band paying along (and usually trying to look cool). The music seemed to be just an afterthought.
In many major label contracts it is stated that the vids that the band makes must have (at least 30% or something like that) film of the band paying their instruments. Very limiting, imo.
Close your eyes and just listen to the music. That way you can get a better "picture "(no pun intended) of how good the song actually is.
