Please don't vote for your own entries. Voting is obligatory for everybody who has entered this round, and it would be much appreciated if everybody who plans to enter future rounds would vote in this round as well. And of course any other votes are very welcome, too!
As the new format we tried in the last round worked really well, we'll keep it that way. That means that comments and discussions are not only allowed, but encouraged right from the start. I would like everybody to say something about their favourite picture. Feel free to comment on other pictures as well. The names of the photographers will not be revealed until the voting is over.
Voting will close on Friday, 20 January, 20 UT. The discussion can and should be continued after that, of course. I'll announce the next round somewhere along the way, but you can already start taking (or digging out) pictures for the upcoming rounds, which will be:
11. Humour
12. Chess
13. Still Life (an arrangement of inanimate objects)
14. Extended Exposure
15. Movement/Motion
16. Home (can be in your home, or just in the locality that you would regard as home)
17. Words (?)
If you have questions, complaints or ideas, send me a PM. You can also contact me at rhpphotocomp@gmail.com

So don't be shy, cast your vote!
OK, I'll get it started.
1) #2 Untitled (10 points). A very symbolic picture of stairs that lead to a lighter "upstairs." Not the most beautiful of the bunch, but I think the best photo.
2) #17 Powers Out Toughest Stains (8 points) I liked this picture even though I could not see the title in the photo. Poverty at its worst.
3) #4 "Deserted" (6 points) Very nice use of lighting and symetry
4) #14 Cesky Sen (5 points) Beautiful scenery and beautifully framed.
5) #18 Sears Tower (4 points) I liked this one better than the other as the steam blowing off the top gave it the feel of more motion and looked like a big candle
6) #15 "Relic" (3 points) I liked that he was moving off frame. Just weird stuff in the city.
Just a brief commentary on a few nice pictures that would have been better if the tops of the buildings were not cut off.
1st - 10 pts - 4. Deserted (feels like home)
2nd - 8 pts - 3. Anachronism (I like rainy days)
3rd - 6 pts - 8. Edna's Sports (the authenticity of it all)
4th - 5 pts - 13. Life on the streets (so sad)
5th - 4 pts - 9. Passing through (I like the crane)
6th - 3 pts - 17. Powers Out Toughest Stains (message)
7th - 2 pts - 14. Ceský sen (looks like a painting)
8th - 1 pt - 11. Buy, Buy, Buy! (message)
Thank you for all the work Norlys!

5) nr. 9 Passing trough

Having admined the comp at the start, I'd just like to let everybody know how much harder a job it is to do, if you don't use the table provided along with the number and name of the photo. Easiest way to do it is to copy the naked table into your post box, then just copy in the number and name of the pic to the correct position. Makes life 1000 times easier for the person trying to do the tallying up.
