I think I'm going to leave it as it is. Otherwise, I'd have to try to get rid of this thread and start an identical new one.
[EDIT] Vote for as many entrants as you wish, upto 8. If only voting for 4 (for example), they will get the points awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th (10, 8, 6, 5) even if you say that they came 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. Clear as mud? Good. Carry on.
