How do you know I was the only one who did it privately?
Because Ponderable said so at the time. (When tallying the vote count).

You then decided to make your secret vote public. (Although, when you realized you had voted for both my entries you quickly edited your post. Alas, I replied to it as you were doing so).

Ghosts never forget...

Watch out for the new kid on the block. I may be borderline illiterate, but I am sure somebody who has read stuff will tell you of great authors who were as well, possibly, somebody... anybody??
There are many great writers sir who were late bloomers.

Bram Stoker was 43 I believe, and Mary Wesley (writer of The Camomile Lawn) was in her 70s.

Many? You only named 2....doesn't sound like many to me! 😉

Thank you Torunn.

Thank goodness in life, giving 'examples' is sufficient for most rational human beings.

I was apprehensive about entering after my initial enthusiasm about the prose challenge, but late last night I read something that sparked me in the direction I wish to go with this...now I’m 200 words in and I have not left my bed (where I do my best writing) except to refill my coffee mug.

Hurrah!!!

@hakima

Good luck!
