Boks vs the Dragons on Saturday.
This is the best bok side I've seen in ages, except for two areas.
We don't have a recognised flyhalf and kicker. Pienaar does kick for the Sharks, but his record is not good enough for this level.
The Welsh are still smarting from their losses here last time - one game they thought they should've won...
They will ha ...[text shortened]... eem relaxed and rested, even at the end of a VERY long season.
Prediction SA 29 - Wales 17
20-15 boks over Wales..
32-6 NZ over Sco
39-13 Eng over Pacfic Islands.
I thought the scottish played very well... they just could quite finish at crucial times and the typical NZ provincial defence held out..
Nothing to crow about from the abs.
I read that Warren Gatland was peeved that his team squandered the game against the boks. Is that fair comment?? (I didn't catch the game)
Looking forward to NZ v Ireland.
Originally posted by Tirau DanJesus, it was disgusting, but not the boks' play. The boks did not play great, but they definitely weren't "lucky to get away with a win" as some people would have you believe.

I'm getting sooooo tired of complaining about refs, but MY GOD! Alain Rolland made so many mistakes, every single one of them going against the boks!
- 4 times, that I counted, a Welsh player played the scrumhalf from an offside position from the side of the ruck and not once were they pinged. They were offside at the ruck almost constantly - luckily we have some of the best scrumhalves in world rugby, so they handled themselves very well.
- the boks got pinged about 4 times for going off their feet - but the Welsh got away with it every bloody time.
- the Welsh fullback carried a ball over into the in-goal, but wasn't picked up. Has Rolland not heard about the TV ref? Would've taken then 10 seconds and the boks would've been on attack 5 meters out with our solid scrum.
- One of the Welsh players stepped out about 10 meters from the goal line while picking up a ROLLING BALL and claimed the lineout for the Welsh with Rolland apparently agreeing. WTF? What rules are you guys playing over there, because according to me, you can only step out when CATCHING the bloody ball to take it 'in touch'?
Anyway...
The boks were not clinical in their handling and it cost us a try, with Pienaar losing the ball over the goalline, and a few other promising moves.
The loose forwards need to tighten up too, plus a little too much aimless kicking from the back...
The Welsh team seems to consist of 13 men trying to win penalties for their kicking flyhalf and that huge number 8 - who played a damn good game. He's a big and strong lad...
At the end of the day the better team won, despite the efforts of the Welsh best player, Alain Rolland.
Were there Northern hemisphere referees in the other games? Did the refs also have a different rulebook than the Southern hemisphere teams?
We know NH refs are a little stricter than the SH refs - where we like to see rugby, not the flyhalfs kicking at posts all the time - but this was ridiculous. Elementary mistakes and inconsistency.
Sanzar just scrapped nuetral refs for the super 14. Merit selection now.
Crowls.. We copped David Barnes for the AB v Sco game and had many problems with the version of the rules but adjusted quickly and sco ended up getting pinged more than us. You said you got pinged throughout.. The boks have to learn "get pinged once and learn" They sure play it different up top and have always done it. Barnes missed lots thank goodness but the stuff he blew wrecked the game. At least he used the card instead of talking.. that helped from the first ten mins.
Looking forward to getting past this silly Munster game. Can't help Trev never saw the canada game.
Saw the highlights of Italy v Aus.. silly stuff there and again probs with the rules. The downunder rules we've played under are different to the set of rules they've been using up top.. I'll be glad when they've finished tinkering.. turn the rules back 30 years!!!! thats my best bet.
Originally posted by Tirau DanWhat pisses me off is inconsistency. If a ref has a certain interpretation - the players can adjust and adapt. But the ref needs to keep his interpretation CONSISTENT. It's all the rugby fan asks.

The boks were pinged for going off their feet, which would've been allowed in the S14, so they stopped doing it. The Welsh weren't pinged ONCE for doing exactly the same.
Their forwards were allowed to play from nowhere near behind the last feet of the ruck and were not pinged ONCE.
I like this new merit selection. Who will judge the refs? Wil they tke the current reports and use them to rate the refs?
Alain Rolland would go back to club rugby if he was rated after Saturday's incompetent performance...

The boks transgress the laws sometimes and they get pinged - but overall they try their utmost best to play the game by the rules.
Other teams transgress CONSTANTLY and ON PURPOSE. Some get away with it, because a few of the refs are bloody useless. Once they see they can get away with something (like the Welsh did past Saturday by going offside at the ruck constantly), they will continue doing it for the whole game and possibly not get picked up by said incompetent ref.
This means bok fans always look like whiners after a game, only because the boks are too honourable to play by these disgusting tactics.
It's OK, the wheel turns.
I'll rather be labeled a whiner than have my team try to get away with murder. It means when the boks win they probably beat 16 players and that's awesome in my book.
GO BOKKE!

The boks are and always have been renown for being the second dirtiest players after the French and are the roughest and most overt foulers. They don't have any finesse about it and don;t learn from lessons dished out by refs. SA players are full of themselves and have some of the best and some of the worst fans on the planet... the best are constantly appologising for fixed mentality of the worst...
Your one eyed words almost amount to clerical divinity. sorry but I'm athiest and don't believe in the gospel according to Crowley.
Meanwhile back on earth.
Henry has rotated 11 players for the NZ v Ireland game
All Blacks team is Tony Woodcock, Keven Mealamu, Neemia Tialata, Brad Thorn, Ali Williams, Jerome Kaino, Richie McCaw, Rodney So'oialo, Jimmy Cowan, Dan Carter, Sitiveni Sivivatu, Ma'a Nonu, Conrad Smith, Joe Rokocoko, and Mils Muliaina.
On the bench are Corey Flynn, John Afoa, Anthony Boric, Kieran Read, Piri Weepu, Stephen Donald, Isaia Toeava.
Predict 38 - 18 to NZ

The boks are probably the cleanest side at the moment. I know we have a history of being 'dirty' and I don't dispute this, but try looking past your bias of "oh god, it's Crowley posting - it must be bull-crap". Check the reports about last weekend's game. The only foul play was committed by the Welsh. Wake up and smell the hypocrisy, you dolt.
Anyway, having 'finesse' in breaking the rules is nothing to be proud of. Playing the game honorably makes one proud.
Would you seriously be proud of the ABs if they won a game against the boks using foul play tactics, but a useless ref like Stuart DICKinson saw none of it and only blew bok transgressions?
What a great (read: idiotic) argument! When breaking the rules, you need FINESSE, man!

nope...this is it my new zealand friend...this is the saturday that ireland are going to beat the all blacks for the first time in their history....plus it will probably be a low scoring game.
19-17 ireland 😀

You have consistently rubbished every ref that pinged the boks so much so that any of us can be forgiven for taken it with a dose of salts.
The kind of dirty play I hate is gauging the eyes and biting especially in the thick of the ruck.
I can't remember a season going by without at least one bok one Frenchman getting hauled over the coals for it.
Over vigourous rucking goes with the territory we all do it, just stay off the head. Your campaign against refs and coming in the side of the ruck is a campaign of one. We all see bad games by ref but your belief that they are ALL out to get SA is wrong and offensive to sports fans and to SA.
