Sad day: Eric Von Schmidt died, 75 years old.

One of the folk icons I listened to in the 60's died today. Eric Von Schmidt was a regular on the folk scene, known for his art work on Joan Baez album covers and others and for his song 'Joshua gone Barbados" Rest In Peace, beloved Eric.

What a great period for the folk scene. Sorry to see them pass away.

The ones gone include Garnet Rogers, who died in 1991 trying to save a swimmer on a strormy beach, Dave Van Ronk, last year, Mimi Baez, married to Dick Farina who died on a motorcycle accident and Mimi, Joan Baez's sister died a few years ago from cancer. Stan Rogers who died about 20 years ago, a great Canadian songwriter and performer. We miss them all.
