What did Stees mean by it?
I don't think I am the person to ask.

No, I meant for Stees to answer since he started the thread. 🙂 He must have meant something special.

Is it like attention-seeking?
Yes, in a way. As FMF said a good thing if one has a “talent” and wants to get the word out. When I said “talent” I meant in a good way. Some people are good at “talented” at doing bad things so in that case Bad.

Most of the people I know who made it big in the commercial world were great self promoters. Its rare to find someone who is self-effacing at the top.
While true that's not a good thing.

Prime example - Boris Johnson.

If we do great things, we may not have to self-promote but let the good deeds speak for themselves. Not always of course, but more often than not perhaps?

Very true. Some get sucked into pranks.
Some prank to pretend someone had died during a Pandemic when people were actually dying. There were a few who believed and some who didn't know what to believe for a few days. Not everyone is on here every minute of every day!~

The best odds lie with the chap who doesn't gamble and invests his money in bricks and mortar.

If you're going to take out $800.00 you may as well round it off at $1000.00. It would be wiser to invest me thinks. 🙂
