What's this, a set-up? You smile too much, Jay Joos...

I like Coriolanus, as fixed in my mind by a Steven Berkoff production in 1996. Must have been all that leather. I enjoy the Henry plays too.

Hooray Henry!

And yet, only Julius Caesar and Hamlet appeal to me...

"Friends...Romans...countrymen..."
"Et tu, Brute?"

"To be or not to be, that is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or take up arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing, end them?
To die, to sleep!--no more! And by a sleep to say we end the heartache, and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to...*SNIFF*...Tis a consummation devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep--to sleep perchance to dream; aye, there's the rub, for in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil must give us pause."

Probably Macbeth and Midsummer Night's Dream, but Julius Caesar is very close.

I wish he'd written one on Heliogabulus.

Macbeth - BEAUTIFUL!

I only like the tragedies but his few poems are very good.

I can think of few things I'd less like to do than sit through a Shakespeare play.

Especially Hamlet. And Midsummer Night's Dream is insufferable.

I agree about Mid summer night. Some of them are just draining.

He had special help. (See Neil Gaiman, Sandman, A Midsummer Night's Dream).
