As an aside, just won the best game of Scrabble ever. - Personal score of 462, but more importantly finished with a 7 letter word on a triple word score - 'Remigrate' (incorporating the 'at' already on the board).
Thanks for listening.
@Great-Big-Stees saidYou will of course be supplying a prize?

@Great-Big-Stees saidYou didn't even read the rules for my WWG, despite me taking 4 years to write them. π€
That’s likely why I didn’t read them.π
@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidI’m sure some of the other players might have scanned them.

@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidShould you decide to run another WWG you may want to make the rules…simple, especially because I am.π€π²
Grrrr
@rookie54 saidThank goodness i didn't mention the unicorn.
fourteen brazillion points at scrabble
takes four years and a packet of AI to write game rules
folks, it may be shocking stuff,
but,
i ain't the only one pulling the wool over yer eyes with a grin
@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidIs that score real? If so, I can say as an avid Scrabble player myself, that that is quite a score, and the finish deserves recognition.

When I win my wife gently talks about lucky draws on the letters which kind of sucks out the joy of victory. I trust you were not in the same predicament.

@diver saidThanks. Yes, genuine score. My wife and I's combined score is usually around 700. We both have got close to 500 points, but as yet it remains tantalisingly out of reach. (A more impressive feat for her of course, seeing as English is her second language). - Getting high value letters is always nice, and there is obviously a big dollop of luck in the tiles you pull out of the bag, but I'm just as pleased when I get a G, as having an 'ing' always makes a 7 letter word more likely. (And there are only 3 G's in the bag). The trick is also to maximise the triple letter scores with a word in both directions to get the value twice (and to know your Xi's, Qi's, Jo and Ja's, Zo, Ze, and Za's).

@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidAnd of course there are the tactical rubbish words one uses just to reduce the chances for opponents to get those hot triple word places π
