I don't think there are many hoodies in old people's homes. Unless it is late at night and they are on the rob or a happy slapping expedition, with my phone videoing it! 😛

The final straw for me was when the council closed the home I jointly managed and "resettled" the residents.

I am not saying this had anything to do with the closure, but the better part of them died within a year of leaving.

At the funerals there would be members of the family I h ...[text shortened]... re in care, it is funny how a will can tug at the old heart strings.

Edit: Good luck to you
I work for a housing association. Occasionally they do close down homes and 'decant' tenants. This being because there was an excess of sheltered housing built in the 1970's. However they are offered total support during this 'decantation' and offered fair compensatory packages for their inconvenience. So I've been told.

Yeah, like old grans with a broken hip get left in crap for 2 days before some dodgy nurse with fag in hand notices that she can't piss. But then gran dies and it's too late! Yeah guys, I have a great deal of respect for old people's homes at a charge of 400 quid a week plus for doing naff all! (experience quoted!) 🙁

(Not referring to you - I'm sure you do a good job 😕)

Erm I don't work in a residential home. I work in sheltered housing. It's like a block of flats with a manager.

That is partly why I went into the job, I know the situations you are referring to.
Luckily those sort of places are very much in the minority now.

It is a sad day in hell when that stuff happens.

🙁
