@Russ saidthis is a recurring phenomenon
I'n not experiencing this myself (right now), and I can probably explain an earlier slow down today about the time of your post, so let me know if this is a recurring issue.
right now
the first thing i do when something is amiss is check on my download speeds
streaming video, unless i'm incorrect, is the most egregious offender
since spectrum/charter increased download speeds to 500 mbps i have zero issues with accomplishing anything i want via the internet
except for this website
i will go and make a few more moves in my games, and watch with amusement/dismay as i tap the "submit" link and wait
now, it is true that when i estimate the time it takes between the tap and the execution it's in the neighborhood of 1 to 2 seconds (metric)
considering i am used to it being nearly instantaneous and the site setting up the next board in the same dang flash, i realize its the same as complaining about the temperature being off by two degrees F
it's happening right now
@rookie54 saidThanks for the update. I can see the pattern (that matches your report too) and will be investigating today - and hopefully a solution.

@Russ saidThe site response seems a little slow in the morning up to lunchtime in the U.K

I assumed it was something to do with the server updating early morning US time.
The response is instant later in the day.
It's only about a 2 or 3 second delay when it's slow so not really an issue for me
I am retired so have plenty of time!
@venda saidI'm looking at it now. I can see the severs being heavily loaded every 3 hours, like clockwork, so some DOS caused by an Ai spider probably.

Right now it is being loaded - hence the slow down.
edit : I will be hopefully blocking the cause of this soon, resolving the issue.
@venda saidI am retired also Dave, but it can still be irritating when you have over 200 games on the go. I blame it all on Donald J. Trump!!!! 😉
