Approximately 6.5 billion people on earth.
Approximately 75 billion SMS messages sent daily.
That's 11.5 messages per person. On earth.

Don't people want to talk anymore?

I friggin hate the sound of a Nokia when someone gets an SMS. Then they have it on that horribly high volume as well.
The only thing worse is people who actually have hour long conversations - using SMS messages!

I bought a phone because I was too lazy to wear a watch.

Heh, that's what mine is used for mostly too.

The only time I ever use SMS, or the normal phone for that matter, is to arrange stuff like meeting people later or whatever. So it's always a brief "Pub at 8" and that's it.
My sister is a big fan of the phone and can spend a good hour or two talking to the friend that she is going out with that night.

I hate to bitch about 'the youth of today' because it makes me sound like the miserable old git I am fast becoming (thanks for those genes Dad) but, my mate's a teacher and he says that alot of kids can text one handed only glancing at the screen occasionally, so they are all at it under the desk whilst he is trying to teach. Actually that is quite impressive, so this is less of a bitch more of remark in amazement.

Don't you hate it when you realise that even you have no idea what you are going to say.

I can't stand it when friends attempt to engage me in an SMS conversation. I'm glancing through my phone now, and almost every message is an example of this.
For instance:

"Did you borrow my Shane Warne's Cricket cd?"

What a lazy git. If a response is required, why not call my land line at the same cost? I've never even see his cd, and I'll be buggered if I'm going to waste 20c replying "No".

"Who's coming to the club tonight??"

This one really got to me. This individual sent a dozen messages, expecting a dozen people to take the time to reply, simply to see whether she could be stuffed going out.

"What are you doing tonight?"

This poor bugger was hoping for a full fledged SMS conversation, even though he was well aware I was at home.

SMSing can be useful, especially if one is organising a gathering and wishes to inform a large group about it (i.e. "We're meeting at the club at 8 to watch the footy*. A.F.L supporters will be shot on sight" ). But I have no tolerance for the examples given above. I never reply to them, and my friends are slowly learning to call.

The end.

That's one thing I can't stand. The 'yutes' of today with cell phones. They should be banned from schools and my kids won't have one. It's amazing how all of us survived childhood without one but now the kids 'need' one. Please please please.... NO! 😉

Why would anyone want to own a fatty's DVD?

Anyhooo....
Is it just me or do woman just love the SMSs more than guys?
The bulk SMS is a good idea, but then you get the people who go: "Oh, did you SMS me. Hell, I didn't get it....." blah blah blah.
Call me and talk to me, 'tis the only way.
