Personally, I subscribe to some sites and not to others, so falling in to both categories wouldn't link scum or snob to the arbitrary act of subscription.

I don't call anyone in the forum scum. I do call them non-subs which is accurate.
Scum is a little strong.
I've had posts removed for calling someone an idiot, which is milder than scum.
I do tell someone they are stupid, which is accurate. Not naming names here.

I think it's a disgrace for me to be called a sub snob simply because I support the site and do not do freeloading like others do.
The old excuse that non subs bring in advertising revenue if that's the case then why bother to charge anybody.
The term non sub scum has been used on here for years. Never seem posts removed or reprimand s being issued.
It's a phrase non sub scum not calling a player scum.
Some have an issue with being called NSS but happily use the snob word which I find very offensive.

You are absolutely right about the term non-sub-scum being used for years, doesn't really mean the people are scum...Like when someone calls someone a pervert, etc., etc., doesn't mean they are serious about it. All used in banter as far as I am concerned.
I remember years ago way back getting a forum ban for calling someone a knob head, it was considered racist. Had absolutely nothing to do with race!!!
