send these guy an email complaining about an extra £20 ($40) shipping charge put on a product that only cost £20 (£27 including shipping and taxes) just because they're sending it to n. ireland.

these guys - sales@tradeframes.co.uk

oh and get this the extra £20 is taxed, so the total is £51.44 ($103) for a £20 frame.

what a joke.

Don't email them. Call them.

I actually spent the last week and a half emailing AT&T about my cell phone billing. I was getting no where. I finally called them today and started off with the regular answering department. After a short while of being told no. I made them transfer me up a level. I then explained myself some more and then was transferred up another level. After speaking with this person I was satisfied.

Might not help you this time, but in the future remember never take the first level persons answer. Unless it’s the answer you want.

Clearly stated in their T&C so what you moaning about?

Delivery Schedule

Orders over 99 pounds are shipped free of charge.

Orders below 99 pounds are charged 9.95 contribution.

Orders Below 25 pound carry a 3.50 surcharge.

Delivery to Ireland , Northern Ireland and UK Islands is 19.99.

So the cost to you was £20 for the goods
£3.50 to the VAT man
£3.50 surcharge because you placed such a small order (Under £25)
£19.99 because that is the courier cost.

Now had a person in the UK ordered the same value of goods the cost to them would be

£20 for the goods
£3.50 to the VAT Man
£3.50 surcharge because they placed such a small order
£9.95 because they placed a small order.

So effectively you have been charged £10.04 more to get the item shipped to Northern Ireland. Not a bad charge for a courier service.

But then again the shipping would be the same for an order of £500.

Postage costs have little bearing on the value of an item. Why do people always assume because an item costs less it should be cheaper to post? 🙄
