Not sure. I wouldn't think its a rip seeing as he has to come to you. Sounds like a low call out charge to me. Locksmiths are £45, just for the callout.

Of course you could get rid of it yourself. Make sure your antivirus software is up to date, then scan and find the virus, and try to fix/quaranteen it. If you have decent anti-virus software, that should work. The next best option is to type the trojan name into google, and you should get some good results, which detail step by step manual removal of the trojan.

If you need help finding those instructions, post the name of the trojan here.

I had a backdoor virus. Not joking. I have Macafee AV and that just deleted it, so i don't know. How do you know you have it? Is it a warning from Norton that tells you?

There is another antivirus you could download and it is free, Trend Micro, they do a free scan of your computer and remove any infection. I had some trouble with mine a couple of years ago and Norton would not remove the virus but Trend Micro did. Worth a bash anyway.

Well don't go paying £30 just yet. Let's have a look at google and see what she can find for us. Although £30 is a fair price to pay for someone.
