Yes,I like the chess part of the site but I've read enough to see that non subscribers are not loved in forums.
I like to play some quick games when I have the opportunity to,I'm not intereste ...[text shortened]... playing for free and trying the site.
Yes,I tried the site but I won't subscribe.
So what?

WHY CAN'T YOU SEE!!! they can make arses of themselves in their own forums...not where PAYING members are, who don't want to see whatever grarbage the next newbie has to say about being able to beat Ironman and enjoying shagging leopards or whatever.
But still unconvinced. Non-sub's have enough restrictions as it is. I have suffered them long enough. I could afford Internet dialup and a 5 years haggard PC at the time, so my bread was my priority.
If you don't like these posts, then thats fair enough, don't read them. Not because I can't pay means I will be discriminated against and restricted only to talk to other members with financial difficulties. Rich and poor still talk to each other in the real world, the Internet has made the globe smaller and communication a trillion times more efficient, why ban or restrict anyone who wishes to have their voice heard, whether it was for a sensible comment or as bad as you've mentioned above.
Offenders do get banned, and so they should. But if I am to take your view then many descent non-sub's members will suffer the punishment of the "majority" too.
Originally posted by NyxiePeople have a set income....yes, most people do. But they managed to set their finances correctly to afford a computer and internet connection. So why can't they organise their finances to save $30. It's up to them, but I don't think that subs should have to put up with non-subs spouting constant rubbish into forums that we pay to post it. I re-iterate; give them a forum of their own, they can post there, spout what ever rubbish they like in it, for all I care they could run a sewer through it. But why should we pay to use this site to play chess and chat in the forums, only to be abused by non-subs.
Look freddie some people do have set incomes. If a person says they can't afford to join I see no reason to call them over the carpet about it.
Starrman shouldn't be told it's a bad thing to start the longest ever thread at RHP. He paid for that right. He could start a thread detailing in 10,000 words the inside of a ping pong ball, and I couldn't care less. He paid his right to do that. Why is that soo hard to see?

No member here needs to come before you and explain why they decided to buy thier medications or their baby food, or pay their rent rather then join this site. It's not your place to question or expect people to answer to you about their personal finances.
It may be hard for you to undrstand this but 30 dollars us is an amazing amount of money in some parts of this world. I think your attitude that people should have to pay just to sit at the same discussion as you is elitist and rude. You get what you pay for freddie, and protection from non subs was'nt in the agreement when you joined this site.

Great, you're the king of freedom of speech
Originally posted by elohiym chananHmmm... you joined 4 weeks ago, but you are already an expert on Bowmann's posts! Is it possible that since neither you or Bowmann are subscribing members, that you are one in the same!? 😛
A forum without Bowmann would be like a day without sunshine. All the subs would get so bored in their exclusive club, they would start sniping in ours.
Originally posted by FisichI like it the way it is. They can't really do anything to you can they? Talk is cheap and if someone feels important because they have a subscription I just smile, happy that I don't need that to feel good about myself.
Maybe not love, but I don't like to be treated like someone with no rights because I didn't pay a damned subscriprion on a chess site.
That attitude is plain wrong don't you think?
And if Russ changes non-sub privileges I'll find me another forum. There are thousands of free ones out there.

For me it's not the money it's just the choice I have made. I don't want hundreds of games going. I may join someday but for today the free site is quite sufficient.
Originally posted by Freddie2004Can't you understand that in this world there's still some people that is not interested in subscribing to a chess site?
RRRRRR....why do you feel that you should just be able to come onto this site, not pay a penny, and expect upgrades, good service and such???? 😠😠😠If you don't pay, the site doesn't expand. The whole idea of non-subs is that you are given a chance to checkout the site and see what it is like. If you don't like it....frigg off. If you do, subscribe. ...[text shortened]... should I throw money away..." Why the f*ck should we (subs) fund your enjoyment of the site???
Is that hard to deal with it?
What's all this fuss about?
Get a life dude.

I didn't pay to put up with idiots in the forums. If they don't pay they don't get certain privelidges. If posting in the main forums is made a priveledge, then people who are intent on causing trouble will be dis-sueded. Again I say, $30 dollars I know is a lot of money in many countries, but these people can afford computers, internet etc...in comparison to that $30 is not much.
