Wonder what kind of advice we'd get from Xanthos if it was HIS wife and kids in that hole?
Originally posted by XanthosNZOf course, the five innocent victims wouldn't be brought back, but society would be spared the cost of supporting this sociopath for the rest of his life: housing him, guarding him, feeding him, clothing him, tending to his medical needs, providing him with entertainment, with a library, with free lawyers, and on and on.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars...the hard-earned dollars of honest people...to give this creep for free what the rest of us have to work damned hard for.
Don't confuse revenge with justice. Executing this evil scum would solve a lot and save a lot.
What a horrific story.
What comes to my mind though is that this criminal showed absolutely no mercy. If you want to continue to have a society where people show no mercy then show none yourself.
If you wish to retain the right to condemn someone for their actions then your actions must surely be different.

Originally posted by masscatI read that account last night after posting in this thread. Such heartache. We weren't in the area back in 1989, and had no idea such a tragedy took place when we moved here a few years ago. When I popped our address and the address where this took place on Chardon Road into Google Earth, I was surprised to find that we live less than eight miles away.

The above link gives details. I talked to the victim the day of the murder. He told me he'd be happy to get off work because he and his family had been invited to some "friends" house for dinner that afternoon.
And to think you spoke with him just a few hours before such treachery!

I say tie the sorry SOB to my bumper and let me get on the freeway and drive to the beach in San Diego. Scum like this doesn't deserve to live, much less to not feel pain at the execution. I hope he's in pain every millisecond of his short-ass pathetic life.

And to the person claiming that the death penalty acts as a deterrent, prove it.
