Perhaps an epitaph suitable for the lion's share of any given population, since unwittingly 'striving to be tiresome' seems to characterize the soft underbelly of universal human behavior (or at least our perceptions of it when it differs in mode or style from our own or threatens our established and often rigid comfort zones). Reminds me of the old chestnut, "Sex is here to stay. Takes place every day all over the world, though few if any are sure they're doing it the 'right' way".
