G Boycott
B Simpson
G Chappell
V Richards
G Sobers
Lloyd
Botham
A Knott

Opening bowlers in Hall and Roberts ,put fear into anyone with their pace .
Seam bowlers in Botham,Chappell.
Spin of Gibbs and Sobers

2 opening batters who would be rock solid
Followed by 2 excellent strokeplayers
Very solid middle order
The tail is a bit dubious ,but they all had their moments

Remember they're facing Marshall, Garner, Hadlee, Imran Khan etc!
Sure. I never saw Garner or Hadlee play, so I can't really comment, but that top 5 can really play pace.

Joel Garner had an ability to make a ball rise sharply on a dead pitch.. he really had an aggro streak.. similar to McGrath but much stronger. This guy would send you to the dressing room black and blue if you managed to get through any sort of innings... the guys today would not have come across anything like him.

I must say that Bms bowlers had an even worse rep for aggro.. if you listen to Fred Truman's many commentaries about them running in from the car park to deliver another broken bone ;-o

Paddles Haddlee (so named because of his size 13 shoes) was a breed apart. He was as fast as any around before or since but had variety and knew how to use his range of change balls.

You'd get a swinging m/fast ball at your off stump for 7 or 8 balls.. if lucky enough to get bat to ball it was a slip catch but then came a totally unplayable yorker or inswinger to knock out middle. Speed and accuracy made him #1 for many years. He had the scalps of most of the greats.
