Originally posted by Shallow BlueYou crossed the line with that one. Produce your evidence of lower Texas IQ and superior northern IQ. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen posted. I don't know where you were educated, but try as hard as I can I don't sem to find slave wars in the history of the USA. You mean a la Spartacus? Interesting. Unless you mean the Civil War. Funny thing that war. The north did not emancipate the slaves until well into the war and only grudgingly. The war was a war over states' rights. Slavery is an ugly blot on the history of the USA, but was not the immediate cause of the war. Did you know that many slaves fought on both sides of the civil war? Have you ever read the commentaries made by William Tecumseh Sherman, a Union General, about slaves and black people during his famous march?
Depends on how strict you are about it, I suppose. Texas wasn't around for the drawing of the line, but it did take part in the Slaver Wars. And it's definitely south of the line both geographically and mentally.

Three possible origins for the word: $10 dollar notes issued in Louisiana calld "Dix notes". Possibly for a Mr. Dixy, a kind Manhattan slave owner to whom escaped slaves would flock to. And of Course Jeremiah Dixon. Curiously "I wish I was in Dixie" was written in Ohio! Upon learning of the surrender of the South at Appomatox Lincoln orderd his military band to play Dixie.
I did not know that Texas is in Dixie.

i hope i don't sound like i'm trying to teach you, i cain't...
hiz referral to "mental" might, and prolly does, indicate a "state of mind" rather than a shot at a region's general intelligence levels...
a texan, the way i wuz taught, takes a slight slap such az that with a grin, and never looks back...
you might not have, but, don't take stuff like that personally...

If he clarifies otherwise I then take everything back, but unitl such clarification is forthcoming! Being that he mentions "slaver wars" I'm assuming he does not mean it in a positive way. Ya'll keep whistlin' Dixie, now!
claiming texans have a southern frame of mind is smearing texas?!?
