think there was one for TRS-80 Color Computer, wish i could remember the name; it was pretty good.

Zork 1 & 2 were the first games I recall playing on my 128k Macintosh in 1984!

I enjoyed the games, especially after learning my way around the command abbreviations and shortcuts.

Scott Adams wrote and produced several in the early eighties. At the site listed below, he has several that can be downloaded and played.

At the time, he was very popular for text adventure games. I tried a few during that era, and actually finally managed to solve one of them.

These were nothing compared with the games that are available now. At the time they were challenging, and still are, ......but don't expect graphics, bells, whistles, etc.

I've heard of it. I've even played it. It was not nearly as notable, and not nearly as good, as either Zork or The Hobbit. The HHGttG text adventure was also very notable, though perhaps not actually good... aggravating, amusing, and memorable, but not very good.
