But in either case, if you disagree with what the person is saying, why not just mock them openly for saying it, rather than going behind their back and deleting the entire thread?

I'm just not a thread snuff fanboy. I don't think we need to be protected from mildly repulsive points of view. And it's annoying as hell to have dozens of people's writing erased, based upon your disagreement with one poster's viewpoint.

The post that was quoted here has been removedI don't mind, in fact I support, keeping decency in the fora but when there is 60+ posts in a thread then its probably been jacked and has some decent material. In other words, delete a thread as quickly as possible but don't delete the whole thread when there have been so many posts in it.

I knew eventually it would get out of hand, and it did.
Sometimes threads are removed before they escalate, it's really not to hard to see where a thread may eventually go.
I've looked over the list of removed threads, and the only ones I didn't think 100% should go were a couple spin-off threads.
Everyone has a different level of tolerance, so there is no pleasing everyone. For anyone like you who doesn't want things erased, there's another user who wants more erased.
