Could be a major mistake. It's raining in Acton apparently and the weather s coming in from the NE (I love Test Match Special)

I would laugh my arse off if that cost them the Ashes.
Monday evening England 9 wickets down and ends in a draw after most of Saturday washed out...

I didnt say cricket was boring, I was quoting from your post

Also how being paid to sit or stand generally in the sunshine, and travel the world for free for doing something you enjoy be boring?

Each to their own, I couldnt see Andrew flintoff and Warny sitting down to play a game of chess

I agree surely Aus should take every opprotunity to win, draw or loss is not important

Did Aus take the light, as from playing my understanding is the option is offered to the batsmen first and they have priority (other than the umpire)
This is at village cricket level though, maybe its different at test level?

Actually Flintoff does play chess, and represented Lancashire schools

Yes. Aus are batting. They took the light and went off. Can't come back on until it has improved (according to the light meters) now, even if they want to.

No, they can start batting again if they request, but wouldn't be offered the light again until it had deteriorated further.

Not boring at all. This is one of the best Test series of all time. If you don't know or like the game then keep out of it. If you don't understand it, then ask a question, but never, ever is this particular match boring. The whole Ashes series rests on it and I'm rooting for England.
Just for that be prepared to take a thrashing .... 8-)

It's a must-win for Aus but the rules will make up for the lost time. I guess Aus want to make 600-plus and then bowl England out for cheap. They've made a good start so far and there's three days to go. There's going to be a lot of play still ....
