So it's Mel Gibson and the Dissapointment of Christ all over again.
The RCC (Royal Catholics of Canada🙂 has nothing to fear from the actual book but they are in a generally embattled position now as a result of the edicts of their own making, no condoms, no divorce, no married clregy, etc., ad nauseum. So ANYTHING that even LOOKS like a threat is going to be fought tooth and nail by the 'holy see', whatever that means! The Code is 99 % BS but if it helps bring down christianity I am all for it, unfortunutely that won't happen but one can always hope. Its funny how the original christians, the Gnostics, were later declared to be heretics by the version of christianity that should have been called Paulism, funny how the winner gets to write the history. The Paulists didn't like the Gnostic idea that you don't need intermediaries to feel and worship god directly, kind of messes up the whole Paulistic concept of them being on top of things and being the go-between so the riff raff public has to cow tow to them. Can't have the people be independent, now can we...
