It is the way there are lots of plot twists woven together and how he keeps getting messed around by his psycotic 'freind' that made it intresting for me.

I was expecting more of an ending climax though, it had a similar build up as such classic films as snatch or lock stock and two smoking barrels (though you probably wont have heard of those if you are not English)

Snatch is quite popular in America.

It's possibly my favourite film.
It gets better the more you watch it.

Jesus Quintana: You ready to be £u@ked, man? I see you rolled your way into the semis. Dios mio, man. Liam and me, we're gonna £u@k you up.

The Dude: Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Jesus Quintana: Let me tell you something, pendejo. You pull any of your crazy $hit with us, you flash a piece out on the lanes, I'll take it away from you, stick it up your ass and pull the £u@king trigger 'til it goes "click."

The Dude: Jesus.

Jesus Quintana: You said it, man. Nobody £u@ks with the Jesus.

Walter Sobchak: Eight-year-olds, Dude.

Walter: "No, Donny, these men are nihilists. There's nothing to be afraid of."

This is a great scene. Another good one:

Phillip Seymour Hoffman is showing the Dude the Big Lebowski's Wall of Achievements when the Dude looks in the Time Magazine mirror, sees his reflection, and recoils.

Couldn't agree with you more huck ! Luckily I only paid £3 for it ang got most of that back, if I had spent more it would have been a waste 🙁 . I can't help wondering if it had not got Fxxxxxxx this and Fxxxxxxx that in it, would it have had the same appeal, sadly probably not 🙁 On the point of comedy films, for £2 I got a copy of the classic 'Green Man' film made by Shepperton Studios in the early days with Alistair Sims, made me laugh a lot more and guess what... not an F word to be heard !!! Maybe it's time to learn to speak using vocabulary ???? 🙂

The movie made such an impact that they have yearly "Lebowski Festivals" in a few big cities. They're held in bowling alleys and people dress up as their favorite character.
Literally every line of dialogue in the movie is quotable, it's priceless.
