Or how about "degrees of separation"? For instance, I can link myself through two other people to Wayne Gretzky and through three other people to the late Sam Walton, founder of Wal-Mart.

And no, I am not the least bit wealthy myself.

It wasn't me, but a friend of mine got to meet and speak with Paul McCartney in LA a few weeks ago. He shook his hand and said Paul was a very graceous person. I thought that was pretty cool.

I have exchanged emails with a woman who has talked on the phone with another woman who met three of the Beatles (all but George) at a club in London in the late 1960s.

I met a lady who had seen the Beatles perform at the Cavern Club in the early sixties. She said if she had known at the time who they were she would have slept with one of them LOL! 😵

nice one man. was this in recent years?

ive had the delight of shaking the hands of Stewart McKimmie AND Davie Hannah

About two years ago, he was shopping in Heals on Tottenham Court Road and I couldn't resist it. Was all a bit hero-worshippy kinda thing, but although he asked me if I was old enough to be a Led Zep fan he was really nice about being disturbed by a complete stranger 🙂

Also met Damon Albarn, Alan Rickman, Ray Winston, Nick Moran and a few B list celebs too (cough* name dropper *cough) The charity I work for does photoshotts with famous people to raise money.

The nearest I get to any sort of claim to fame is the fact that my dad went to school with David Bowie, even went to one of his birthday parties I believe.
Peter Frampton went to the same school too, but he was a couple of years ahead of them.

Johnny Ball when I was about 10. His daughter Zoe is slightly older than me. It is a shame that she was not with him. I would have got to know her and she might not have married Fat Boy Slim. 😉

Brother Oral Roberts met a 900-foot-tall Jesus in Oklahoma back in the 1980s. Whether they shook hands, he never said. I was kinda hoping someone might have a similar story for us. 😵

Shook hands with Jon Bon Jovi at Glasgow while filming "In these Arms" for a live link with Top of the Pops.

Drank a beer with Bruce Dickenson and Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden

Had a coffee with Terry Pratchett

Was taught guitar by Olga (lead singer and guitarist with the Toy Dolls) for 10 years

Edit:- Through my Mams line of work I have also met Brian Glover (british actor who starred in Alien 3), Jimmy Saville, Lisa Stansfield and we also had the guy who hosted Mr and Mrs round for tea, his name escapes me though (I was 5 when I met him)
