, I'm not sure what the reasons for it being a gateway drug are. Is it because users constantly need a better high, OR is it because of the shady people u have to deal with when buying your mj.

I personally reckon its the latter. Another good reason to legalise.

btw: what's a zoomer? It sounds interesting. =)[/b]
I would say it's more like when you're young and you try weed and you realize it's fun and not so big a deal, the natural curiosity of youth takes over when someone gives you the oppurtunity to try something else. once the stigma of marijuana is lifted people think less about trying more dangerous, potent drugs. legalization would not affect this because the other drugs would still be readily available from your local neighbourhood dirtbag.

Thanks for the info Ivan,

In the interests of fairness, could you copy and paste the priory's section on alcohol as well. Or are the adverse affects of alcohol ok, seeing as jesus himself dealed it out left, right and centre?

Actually, an excessive intake of alcohol is not permitted. Perhaps because the difference between a man drinking one pint and one on his 6th pint is what we call a 'Tosser'.

In the same way an excessive intake of chocolates, sugar, computer games ect is harmfull. The difference between alcohol and marijuanna is that it only takes one joint to act like a knob. A knob being a person uncapable of actual coherent conversations(yet thinking they are perfectly coherent). I assume you can reach this same level of mental incapacity through excessive alcohol, however reaching this limit is in general not intended when out drinking. The headache the next day for most is a sufficient deterrent.

Dont you realise this is pretty much what ragnarok was saying?

If your "local neighbourhood dirtbag" was ONLY selling those substances proven to be harmfull to your health, any "curiosity" which takes you to him is of the morbid-suicidal-crazy type which should warn any friends that you shouldn't be left alone with a sharp knife, let alone a "local neighbourhood dirtbag".

Allowing this "dirtbag" to posess a product which he can quite truthfully declare as harmless widens his access to those who are merely curious...

I guess I didn't realize it. But thanks for pointing it out to me.

And dirtbags come in many shapes and sizes. Sometimes you can't figure out they are dirtbags until it's too late - speaking from personal experience.

Intresting... 🙂

Coherency, yep bang on there, one joint is all it takes.

However ...conversational content actually tends to show a marked improvement with marijuana (even if you cant understand it), while with alchohol it's actually a prescient symptom that the content of any conversation goes down even before you've taken a sip of your first pint 😉

You've just called 99.9% of irish people tossers!!!!

To be honest, I find your post quite incoherent. Are you a knob as well after your one spliff?

I can't see what statement of mine you are addressing when u say 'Actually, an excessive intake of alcohol is not permitted.'

As for saying 1 j can turn u into an incoherent knob. I strongly disagree with that as well. I would class that in terms of credibility in the same group as Harry J. Anslinger's peach: "Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind."
