Buddy. Do you know what a first round draft pick is worth? 4 or 6 years of a GREAT PLAYER.
This is the BIGGEST EVAH punishment handed down.
Steroids are a major problem in sports, so that was a good decision. All teams steal signs. Just last year Bill made a Jet's camera guy move. Just made him move... nothing more.
Mangina took it to the ne ision was made. Some think too much, some think not enough, some think just right.

Even you should know the difference between run of the mill infractions during the game which result in penalties and the out and out cheating engaged in by your Pats. And it is the height of hypocrisy for you to so piously condemn the "cheating" of Barry Bonds in another thread, but shrug off Belichick's actual cheating here.
EDIT: Of course, Lyle Alzado died of brain lymphoma and "there is no medical link between steroids and brain lymphoma," http://espn.go.com/classic/biography/s/Alzado_Lyle.html
Another fairy tale to scare the kids.

Do you really think Bill was the only person to play the camera game? If you do, you are wrong. Mangina just took it to the next level and busted bill.

"They did it too" is not a defense to cheating last I knew.
Originally posted by no1marauderI'm not defending what they did, they got punished and I think the punishment was a lot more severe than you make it out to be. You don't seem to believe that steroids are damaging to the body, I do. Last time I checked neither of us were doctors, but I have read and heard some doctors talking about the damage steroids do on my sports radio and articles found online.

You'll always find a something that says you are right, but there are also scientists trying to say that humans can't affect the air quality when it's a simple logical concept that if you keep pissing in a tub the water will get dirty.
Take a look at how many wrestlers who were on roids are now dead. There have been near 60 or so deaths I understand in the past 10 years or so most likely attributed to the use of steroids. It's ridiculous to think steroids are not dangerous.
In no way am I trying to say the moon is green provolone, though I wouldn't mind at all.

I never said that steroids can't cause damage to the body; my position is simply that grown ups should be able to decide whether they want to take the risks of the possible side effects to obtain the desired benefits. That's the same position I take with cigarettes, Wild Turkey, crack cocaine, etc. etc. etc.
If sports want to ban steroids because the governing bodies decide it adversely effects competitive balance, that's their privilege (though I think they're wrong). But to call people "cheaters" who use (assuming they did use) steroids before they were banned by a sport for competitive balance reasons is wrong IMO.
The Pat's "punishment" is a joke, esp. compared to the suspensions routinely handed out to players for substance abuse violations (Ricky Williams is currently indefinitely suspended for pot use) and also compared to the absurd 5 game suspension of Wade Wilson. Why Wilson's "violation" merits sush a suspension why Belichick's blatant violation of the rules to attempt to gain a competitive edge (i.e. cheating) doesn't merit a suspension at all is beyond me. I have yet to hear a reasonable explanation from anyone particulary the NFL as to why these cases were treated so differently.

This stuff goes on all the time, have youre little squeak, youll really have something to piss yourself over when we are 14-2 at the end of the season.

Originally posted by Bobla45If you can find somewhere where I said the Patriots aren't a great team with a superior organization, let me know. Your raving post seems to assume that I don't think the Pats are favorites to win the SB; if so, you are wrong. Football is the hardest major sport to predict; its short season can be affected by one play or one injury more than the others. However, the Pats came close to winning it all last year and the addition of Moss gives them a dimension they have lacked in the past. They remain the favorites; however, two games aren't a season - a lot of teams have looked great in September only to fall on their face in December and/or January. Of course, the reverse is true as well.
Yeah....probably 15-1, or 16-0....I'll be sure to remind you at the end of the year tough guy.
