A little earlier I went by Jacques Pépin's place to deliver a piece of misdirected paper-mail, and he was just as he seems on TV.
He showed me his vegetable garden and his chickens, with a little discussion of their breeding history, and of course we exchanged pleasantries and some surface details about our lives.
This couldn't have taken more than three or four minutes, but somehow he meanwhile managed to produce a large pan of paella and another large pan of ratatouille while we were talking.
Which I present to THEE Tavern, along with ten or twelve pitchers of fresh Sangria, as a peace offering.

@kevin-eleven saidI’m fussy about whom I let buy me drinks.
I'd also like to invite Divegeester to The Tavern, and please put his orders on my tab.

@great-big-stees saidI think we should hire a cook who specializes in West-Indian food. Know anyone?
What if they are well meaning?
@torunn saidWell I do know one whose specialty is "rice and peas".

@great-big-stees saidIf we add curry and chicken at least we have one dish.

@torunn saidGoat, not chicken and maybe some "Slap yo Mama" sauce.

@great-big-stees saidThen we have a goat dish and a chicken dish, with and without curry.

@torunn saidWest-Indian food, like many regional foods, come in many variations/combinations only limited by the supply of ingredients and imagination.
Then we have a goat dish and a chicken dish, with and without curry.
@great-big-stees saidIf they keep animals, they would also keep chickens, or at least we could. I recall how to make a nice curry-chicken casserole. We still need a cook.

@torunn saidYou and I both have culinary experience, maybe we should, not only serve the drinks but we could also do the cooking. What say you?

@great-big-stees saidWith some extra help it might work in a well equipped kitchen and quality products. I say yes, we can try.
