Not exactly...when the sun dies...it will most likely supernova, which will basically make it so earth no longer exsists.

and incorrect. Our Sun does not have enough mass to go supernova (or even just nova). The best it will do is swell to become a red giant, consuming all of the inner planets (Mars on in). So we're still toast either way.

Again, distracted and cannot be 100% correct. I know for sure that if the sun were to "die" that it would expand and take earth with it. Even if it didnt reach that far, the heat from it expanding towards earth would make global warming look like nothing. Theres no chance of the earth being an ice cube after this.
