references to someones cancer treatment were deleted. A certain user who is fond of racial slurs is currently banned. Feck was blatantly used as a replacement swear word. What is your complaint?

The point is that it was used "in place of" a swear word.

It is not a swear word, never has been, and i would've thought that using non offensive words would've been preferable to the alternative.

Its selective censoring.

I don't make the rules; obfuscation of a swear word is not allowed any more than swearing is. Can you explain how, by your defenition of 'feck', how "feck off" makes any sense? If not the only explanation as to why it was used in the context you used it was as a 'accented' swear word.

I used it as a quote from a popular comedy program.
It is not a swear word, and a lot less offensive than a lot of stuff i've seen.

Would have been better if you had deleted the whole thread! Who got banned?

And if you're going to hit me with the "what stuff is worse" poop (i am alowed to say poop?), then just look through most of the stuff shavixmar, or sicilian smaug types sometimes.

I'm sure Darvley has obscured a couple of expletives in his time, as has HoH

a popular comedy program in which is is swearing, albeit it with an accent. If you don't refute this then there's nothing to discuss - any post containing swearing is liable for removal.

If you've seen worse any object to it then alert it and it'll be assessed for removal. Do you have any examples where you would like to see more severe moderation?

From my earlier post.-

It is not swearing in the Father Ted comedy, it is used in place of swearing.

There's loads of it in quite a few threads at the moment, if you want to mod something, go mod the serious stuff instead of picking on someone who is remembering a tv show.

While I still see it as ridiculous that any swear words get moderated even when they are not used as swear words (e.g. discussing their origin or referring to literature etc.), I thank you for explaining and discussing this before deleting it. In this case I wouldn't even have been surprised about a deletion and a ban without an explanation, but this is much nicer.
