Slightly? π I was thinking of wreck whoring because that was the only context I could imagine in which belgianfreak might call someone a whore, but I couldn't remember having been accused of that either. And I wasn't really, or at least I didn't understand it that way. I don't think he was accusing everyone who posted in that thread of wreck whoring.
Originally posted by cashthetrashAh well, but you shouldn't do that to belgianfreak. If we aren't nice to him, he might become like some other moderator(s).

Originally posted by cashthetrashYou were accusing him (jokingly) of calling me a whore, which wouldn't really be the behaviour I'd expect of a moderator.
But.... I wasn't doing it to him.
P.s What is wrong with the others, I think they all do a good job.
I don't think moderators do a good job if they ban people without a warning for something the poster couldn't know to be wrong, but maybe you see that differently.
Originally posted by NordlysWell actually, I was joking but just to try and lighten things up a bit. And you are right about the banning thing. I know nothing about that though. Only thing I did know about was the banning of that other thread. Which didn't bother me one way or the other. But the choice of words did surprise me. But I respect the fact that he at least gave a reason after he closed it. But I wanted to mess with you some too cause you always forget to say hello. π

I don't make the rules; obfuscation of a swear word is not allowed any more than swearing is. Can you explain how, by your defenition of 'feck', how "feck off" makes any sense? If not the only explanation as to why it was used in the context you used it was as a 'accented' swear word.
And even if you were attempting to do this, how on earth could you possibly hope to pull it off? What if I was telling a story about a terrible hunting accident and somebody was sh*t and killed. Was that a obfuscated swear word? Or not?
And what about @#$% or *&$% or @$^%! One of those was an obfuscated swear word... ..or was it?!
Originally posted by leisurelyslothSo what point are you getting at? Should everyone just be allowed to swear as much as they want?!

Thread 46984
I curse and obfuscate swear words all the time. I'm sure if you carried on dredging through my Public Forum Posts, you'd be able to find at least 10 examples of me doing so every single day! The difference is that, unlike some people, I don't whinge and moan like a baby when my posts are deleted, or start up threads to kick off arguements with the moderators about it.
I'm not criticising leisurelysloth's opinion, I just don't understand the point of it. To me, the way he's highlighted the fact that modding obfuscated swear words is almost impossible suggests that he thinks it shouldn't be done at all. Which is why I asked him what his point was and if he was suggesting that everyone should be allowed to curse and swear as much as they want.
What part of that have you got a problem with?
Originally posted by huckleberryhoundanother issue and even harder to address. Should and how could 'rudeness' be controlled? If you have solid arguments that it should and ideas on how it could be implemented I'd be very interested to listen. Probably best discussed in a different thread though.
or if some people can use one word (plonker, retard) replies to every post, or give filthy replies, and get away with it ad-infinitum.

And there's the subjectivity factor again - I find "retard" a lot more offensive than the f-word.
