Erin's Weird Word of the Day:
poculiform
an adjective meaning 'shaped like a cup.' The -form suffix, meaning 'having the shape of,' is remarkably productive, making it useful to people who can't bear to use a word like 'cup-shaped' when they could use a collateral adjective (one formed from a word collateral, or parallel, to the plain noun) instead. There's drepaniform, 'sickle-shaped,' acetebuliform, 'saucer-shaped,' claviform, 'club-shaped,' hamiform, 'hook-shaped,' lacertiform, 'lizard-shaped,' moriform, 'mulberry-shaped,' patelliform, 'kneecap-shaped,' pugioniform, 'dagger-shaped,' and remiform, 'oar-shaped.' Most of these words are used to describe the shapes of plant parts.
I wish you all an acetebuliform day.
