Psst, many of the regular posters in this forum belong to that club. You get that right?

A smokescreen?

So you didn't track down somebody's real name and then start using it in the public forums, even though they hadn't divulged it themselves?!

It was pitched to me as an attempt to gut the General Forum by drawing away as many high volume posters as possible and then leave the hollowed-out General Forum to Very Rusty as some kind of vindictive gesture. I declined to join.

I simply said I wasn't interested in sabotaging the General Forum.

Wow, are you really referring to a bit of silliness and repackaging it as something sinister?

A member of the club volunteered 'themself' to make 2 consecutive posts in the GF, the second an exact anagram of the first. (Involving donkeys I seem to recall). The first post received 10 thumbs up and the second 10 thumbs down. It was funny to see 2 posts next to each other from the same poster one getting 10 thumbs up and the other 10 thumbs down, when they were anagrams of the same post.

It was a (one-off) piece of geeky harmless fun that involved nobody outside the club. Soon forgotten.

This is true.

And sometimes in a private club, hey?
