I believe it would only affect those who want to be liked.

I think sometimes it is down the thumbs down that is to show unity and their displeasure with the person posting. ( I would fall in that category ) 😉

It probably has a negative impact on new posters who may never come back to the forums... 🤔

In my world the thumb down is the good one 😏

Personal note: I've never thumbed anyone down, if I don't agree with someone and I can be bothered I write something to that effect, otherwise I just let it be. I do, however, thumb people up on occasion; I'm always glad to get thumbs up and I assume other people feel the same. It's a vibe thing, you know?

I can honestly say, it doesn't matter to me either way. (Perhaps I've become a little thick skinned over the years.)

One thing it does show is people are paying attention to what you are saying.

Ditto. I don't use the thumbs down feature. Seems a bit too teenage for my sensibilities. I will sometimes thumb a post up if it is a gem of some kind.

They’re a bit of fun or a slap in the face. I tend to give myself a few days before returning to check certain posts because I’m the sensitive type.

I use the feature extensively as posts deserve. Always thumb the post not the poster.

Nice idea.... have just swapped my thumb down (no 8) to an up 😮
