Well, well...your old nemesis, Rogers, continues to vex you. By doing well, instead of poorly, this time around. A shutout no less. Your back is up against the wall, No.1. And with Wright going tomorrow, you may never make it back to NY. The Tigers have risen to the occasion and played well when they had to. I don't think there's a sportswriter in the nation who would have predicted the Tigers would be up 2 games to 1 at this point.

That was a great game. Stupid me was watching Erin Brocclibich and looked at the clock realizing the game had been going on for a couple hours now! Didn't I spill my bon-bons and tea!

I didn't get to post about it last night, but it was just all around great.

What a game. Simply amazing. We shut out the Yankees for 20 innings, or so, before they finally scored again. Bonderman was brilliant. What a post game celebration. I've never seen anything like it before. What a difference a week makes. World Series, here we come.

I was having dinner at my dad's so I got to watch most all the game on his sweet huge HD Tv. Come about the 9th inning my father pointed out they were covering the TV's and such in the clubhouse with plastic... I didn't see it and I asked him, "What, they don't want to watch?"

He said, "No, they plan to start tossing the champagneey all over when they win."

That would have sucked if the Yanks mounted some comeback... and I got a tinge of fear with 2 outs when Jorgi hit his 2 runner. Not that much fear... but you never frigging know with them Damn Yanks.

So, I hope No1 is ok... We've all been wrong before....

Also, John Sterling is a classic classy guy. He was on the radio saying all the right things and not crying in his beer. "better team - out played - not taking anything away from Detroit - great pitching - etc."

Even Torri was acting that way. When asked "Don't you wish it were a 7 game series?" he said,

"No, that wouldn't matter with how Detroit has been pitching".

In the club house Susan Waldman (spelling?) asked (or someone asked) one of the players if they thought Torri and Arod would be back next year. I guess he answered that with a stern, "Why wouldn't they be?"😠

Interesting crap, Twins are finished I hear... so when do they start the next game?

PS. Whatever happened to the "Tiger Collapse Watch" thread?😛😛
Chase, I kinda feel bad for the payrod. I think he's juked up from playing third and being treated as a 'visitor' from the start. I feel Jeeter should have been a real captain / leader and said something like, "I want the best shortstop in baseball playing shortstop because he's having trouble at third and we need to turn this around."

If that didn't work, oh well... but it seems a lot like when I was in little-league and the coach's son played shortstop. He took my brother's position when he was clearly a better fielder.

Did you see that interview with Leyland a minute ago? The guy's trying to talk and someone comes along and champaignes him in the face, lol.

Great game, great celebration, great series, great future.

Perhaps the best result is that they Yanks are going to have trouble keeping the team together. A-Rod's probably gone along with Williams and Torre. ...[text shortened]... is that it's about time.

Next up is Oakland. Any predictions? I'm thinking Detroit in 6.
Congrats to the Tigers; Bonderman pitched a great game and the Tigers acted like they wanted to win it more than the Yanks. I'll root against them with Oakland (wild card and everything) but they deserve their moment.

Typical of a Red Sox loser fan to blame Jeter for A-Rod's troubles. I was glad to see the long term Yankees - Jeter and Posada - have great series. A house cleaning is coming and I welcome it; we've been grabbing the biggest name hitter for too long and have forgot what won the 4 World Championships; pitching and clutch hitting. And maybe Torre will finally be cut lose.

Um, I really like Jeeter... it started with his dive into the stands to catch a foul ball. Came up with his face all marked up from the seats, and I bet he got right back in the game... (don't remember for sure)

That is when I realized he WAS a better shortstop than NOMAH. I just think Arod was having a tough time at third and a change might fule him back up.

No disrespect to Jeeter, perhaps he tried and Torri told him to shut it... I don't know.

You have to feel bad for Jeter, Williams,Posada and a few others. There will surely be a lot of house cleaning by the Yanks. I think Torre is gone...especially with "Sweet Lou" in the unemloyment line.

😕 Sorry, I just can not feel bad for him, since he left Seattle he's been little more than a "Have Bat Will Travel" but don't ask me to perform in the clutch. Great ball players rise to the occaision in October...just ask Reggie!
