I had a friend who was in the bedroom with his girlfriend when apparently the dog came in and, as dogs do, starting affectionately licking the girl in a manner she did not find objectionable. In walks the roomate sees the whole thing, and from that day forward referred to the girls as "Scooby Snacks". The nickname caught on, and pretty soon almost the whole school called her that - or just Scooby for short. Not many people knew why. She never objected to the nickname - she liked the dog and his skills.
