Polite or not, you can't just delete a game after 2 moves [each] have been made. Before that, if they accept a game and THEN delete it without so much as a message, I agree it is impolite, or to put it another way, friggin' ignorant! 😠

They should get rid of the delete option. If you say yes to a game you should play it or resign. You can't just decide not to play a game in the real world after you have started it.

It happens to me regularly; I do an open invite and some jerk accepts it and deletes it before I even sit down. I made a 'site idea' thread a while ago about making them lose so many rating points [say 25% of what they would've normally] but didn't get any agreement - just the snidey comments about subscribing or naffing off to uchess - you know the usual crap.
Anyway, I've started a timewasters list for them......grrrrrr!!!

I would understand [a bit] if it was an invite THEY had created themselves.

I agree with you on this one. I personally trash any challenge that comes in cold with no message from a stranger (my mum taught me well). I'm always a bit suspicious as to why they picked me out at random? Have they looked at my games and spotted a weakness which they want to exploit 😳
It is different if they accept the challenge, make the first move and then cry off.... I agree, take the points! (though I probably did similar things myself when I was new and didn't get the etiquette of the game)

Why not challenge them back naming the game "come on coward - play me" or some similar insult. If they refuse you get bragging rights and if/when you win.... you get bragging rights.
😏

EDIT: rec to 7ate9.... take the blue pill!

Good idea!

I always send them a message informing them they are on my timewasters list - most of them seem pleased - haha, they must think they're gonna win something. If they answer with a reasonable excuse I remove them from the list.

I have to say, it appears to be [in my case anyway] mostly freeloading scumbags who are the culprits. 😞

If you get rid of the delete option then time wasters would have a field day. Challenging people with no intention of playing.

If someone challenges me, i usually make the first move and say "good luck". If i dont get a response, i delete it. Theres no rule saying i have to play rude people if they challenge me.
