Its funny, I am american and know more about UK folk then most
brits do.
I should point out though that this is the UK Hall of Fame, not the World Hall of Fame and whilst there will obviously be foreign artists who had both careers in the is country and who influenced British musicians, they should surely come as a next step in the annals. Elvis can wait, so could Dylan in my opinion, Madonna is an awful choice for anything and the sooner she drowns in a freak bathtub accident the better.

The Stone Roses were great while they were there, but they were too shortlived to have had any real lasting influence, at least for anyone not from Manchester. I agree with Darv that they were not as big an influence on Indie as many other bands, although most of the ones he lists are less famous this side of the pond.
Zepplin should be in there soon as should Radiohead (Shav ---> 😛) and I agree sonhouse, there should also be many folk inductions, Jimmy Page wouldn't have been half the guitarist he was without Bert Jansch.
What I don't get is why only a few each year? Let's turn the millenium dome into something constructive and induct ALL the bands that deserve to be in there, set up a tree of influence, a timeline exhibits, etc. A TV show with 10 or so inductees each year is a waste of my time.

Are you sure? Dylan, Elvis, Marley, Madonna, Michael Jackson? I assumed any artist is welcome to the Hall, it's simply how appreciated you are by the Brits that gets you in.

Those bands will also never see the inside of the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in the States nor would they even be interested in being part of such a place. A new Hall of Fame should be started!
