While you can get kangaroo served in some specialty resturants or themed places (i.e. a resturant that is actually in the outback or that specialises in exotic Australian meats), it is very rare to see kangaroo on the menu (and it's not like there is a huge demand for it either).

I personally have never had any, but I can imagine that would taste alright.

Yep, we have it in most supermarkets. It's a bit gamey but actually is quite nice for a change. It has a unique smell to it but and is quite tasty with some nice red wine sauce or even a bit if of balsamic vinegar.
