Well I'm looking forward to see how the USA go in the Football World C.....sorry that's right, they're out........I mean the Gridiron world cup. They should give that one a shake.
But then what sport championship is worth worrying about? Unless you are part of the team, why care?

So your defense of soccer being so uneventful is that it's harder?
Here's a description of every soccer game ever played: Guy kicks ball, then another guy kicks ball. Once in a while, ball goes past a line.
Actually, many games end in a score of 0-0. Guess I was wrong then. Soccer can be even more boring than that.
Why not watch basketball?
But you like 11 minutes of action spread over four hours. Seriously how do fans stay awake?

Do you follow a team?
Actually go to games?
I still watch football games, but I watch the game, not the teams.
I appreciate what is going on. I see see fouls both called and uncalled. I see blocks not just the run. I appreciate the little things most people don't see.

As you see see what's going on
I don't see the point in seeing fouls not given
The refs decision is final

If they show the play again I can tell people who to watch to see the foul.

I assume you don't get asked over to others houses. When a game is on.
By houses I mean trailers obviously

This means multiple side jobs and cheap entertainment like internet by phone or library.
But as I said, I don't watch sports much.
And arguing with other ass holes on the internet keeps fighting in real life at a minimum.

A few posts ago you were an expert now you don't watch it.
No TV on teachers pay?

The sooner you realize the need to save, the less debt you build up.
It isn't a sob story, but simply a statement of priorities. Most people these days dump their kids in daycare to double the income, my priorities are different.
If the kids are playing, then they are not as fat as they would have been.
In college I was 6' 3", weighed about 245 pounds and could run a 4.8 40 with about a 32 inch vertical jump. I could squat 315 pounds 30 times and bench 225 pounds 20 times.
A conversion site said that a 4.8 forty would be about an 11.7 100 meter.
High school I was fatter and only ran a 5.3 second 40. But when you are 20, you are going to be more physically advanced than 16.
I've spent many years playing and coaching football, so I still have an eye for things the novice doesn't see.

But wanting to coach football was part of my economic downfall. Coaching football and teaching go hand in hand, but neither pays well.
I made sure my kids would not follow my mistake. No more teachers in my family line.
Originally posted by @roma45So why do you support a sport knowing all the time men are wasting in training? If young men put more time in the library instead of the weightroom and other training they would have more successful lives.

Yet you help to fund something detrimental to those who play.

In Australia we love our sport whether we're playing it or watching it. Certainly beats watching Days of our Life etc. I'm also a bit of a gambler (actually a mad gambler) and having a wager on a game makes it a lot more of an emotional experience.
Looking forward to Australia knocking off Honduras and booking their place in Russia next year. The USA had every chance in the world but completely blew it. Should be a great Cup barring any terrorism.

I can't believe the U.S. has failed to qualify. If Australia qualifies it will be yet another example of Aussies wanting it more. After all they have less than 10% of the U.S.'s population.
